Physics Learning Media
Designing and testing media that let abstract concepts be seen, touched, and played with.
I study how cultural knowledge — both traditional and modern — can be translated into physics learning that works in real classrooms.
Reading cultural practice as a source of physics concepts that can be tested and taught.
Turning findings into modules, teaching aids, and media that teachers can use directly.
Guiding future teachers to research confidently and think with cultural awareness.

My academic path rests on a single aim: to make physics more relevant and meaningful. Starting from expertise in physics learning media, my research focus has grown fully into applied ethnophysics in education.
At MERSICS we study the richness of cultural knowledge — traditional and modern alike — and turn it into real innovations for physics learning. MERSICS is not merely a platform but a living laboratory: a space for community service and for training the students I supervise to become culturally grounded educators.
I invite academics, researchers, and practitioners to explore this portfolio and collaborate in bridging cultural heritage with physics.
My focus has not changed direction; it has grown — each stage carries the tools of the one before it.
Designing and testing media that let abstract concepts be seen, touched, and played with.
Reading cultural practice as a source of physics concepts, then turning it into teaching materials and aids.
Building an ethnophysics framework that can be tested, replicated, and used across regions.
Profiles of supervised students, their portfolios, and the mentoring method from topic selection to defence.
Research is only finished when it reaches the classroom. Every finding is pushed toward a reusable product.
Short pieces on physics education and ethnophysics: thoughts not yet ready for a journal, but too good to lose.
Firman Permana, S.Pd.Bimbingan skripsi 2021 · Research Mentor MERSICS & Awardee LPDP
Nadila Ananda Fitri, S.Pd.Bimbingan skripsi 2022 · Pascasarjana PSL, IPB University
Arrafikar Rizqia Firdaus, S.Pd.Bimbingan skripsi 2022
Farah Saufika, S.Pd.Bimbingan skripsi 2022
I am open to joint research, teacher training, culture-based material development, and speaking invitations.
